Traffio includes SMS functionality, and if SMS is used, a charge will be applied to your system. The following explains the areas within Traffio that incur SMS charges and provides tools to help you identify where these charges are coming from, as well as how to reduce or avoid them.

Contacting Employees

In a person's profile, you can set a preferred contact method, choosing either SMS, email, or both. The system will use this preferred method to perform the following actions:

  • Send initial password and username for Traffio

  • Every password reset

  • To send job requests and information if the user does not have the Traffio app

  • As a backup method, when the job requests fail to connect with the Traffio app

Using Messaging Tool

Using the messaging tool in Traffio will send an SMS to your employees. The character section will identify how many SMS's/Part are to the SMS. 1 part = 1 SMS

Contacting Site Contacts

Booking links can be sent to site contacts via SMS and/or email. The contact method settings for site contacts can only be configured within the brand settings.

If SMS is chosen as the communication method for client booking links and no email address is provided in the client contact profile, the system will automatically default to SMS.

To Reduce SMS Cost

  • Change employees preferred contact method to email only

  • Make sure everyone is using the Traffio App

  • Ensure that each client contact has an email address added to their profile

    • Alternatively, change the client site contact method to email only

  • Reduce the use of messaging tools and keep communications short
