Merge Tools

How to merge various types of data within Traffio

This section in Traffio allows you to merge different types of records, including Clients, Projects, Resources, and more. This is useful when duplicate entries have been created and need to be consolidated into a single, accurate record. You can also demerge records if needed.


How to Merge Clients

  1. Navigate to Merge Tools on the sidebar

  2. Select the Merge Clients tab

  3. Select a Client To Keep from the drop-down menu

  4. Select Client/s To Merge from the secondary drop-down

  5. Toggle on or off if you want to merge block lists, client files, and tags

  6. Click Merge

Previously merged Clients will show at the bottom of the page, allowing you to open the merged Client and Unmerge


How to Merge Projects

  1. Navigate to Merge Tools on the sidebar

  2. Select the Merge Projects tab

  3. Select the Client you want to merge Projects for

  4. Select the Project you want to keep from the dropdown menu

  5. Select the Project(s) you want to merge from the dropdown menu

  6. Toggle off the Project Data you don't want to merge

  7. Click Merge

Previously merged Projects will show at the bottom of the page, allowing you to open the merged Project and Unmerge


How to Merge Everything

This folder is where you can merge many different types of data.

Examples of data that can be merged are: Assets, Document types, Skills, Inductions, Categories, Resources, Item Classifications, Tags, Task Types and more.

  1. Navigate to Merge Tools on the sidebar

  2. Select the Merge Everything tab

  3. Select the type of data to merge from the dropdown field (compulsory)

  4. Enter the reason for merging (optional)

  5. Choose Items by ID to keep (optional)

  6. Choose Items to keep

  7. Choose the Items you want to merge

  8. Click Merge


Merge Records

This folder records all merge history from the Merge Everything folder and is where you can Demerge any data items that were not meant to be merged.

  1. Navigate to Merge Tools on the sidebar

  2. Select the Merge Records tab

  3. Open the Merge Type record to view Merge history

If the items need to be Demerged, you can do so from the Merge History page.
