Merge Tools

This section in Traffio allows you to merge various types of data, including Clients, Projects, and Everything else folders.

You also can demerge data and can see a history of all data merged and by whom.


Overview

There are 4 folders in Merge Tools:


Getting Started

Navigate to Merge Tools on the left-hand toolbar on your Traffio.

How to Merge Clients

  1. Select the Merge Clients tab from the top toolbar.

  2. Select a Client To Keep from the drop-down menu.

  3. Select Client/s To Merge from the secondary drop-down.

  4. Toggle on or off if you want to merge block lists, client files, and tags.

  5. Click Merge.

Previously merged Clients will show at the bottom of the page, allowing you to open the merged Client and Unmerge.

How to Merge Projects

  1. Select the Merge Projects tab from the top toolbar.

  2. Select the Client you want to merge projects for.

  3. Select the Client Project you want to keep from the dropdown menu.

  4. Select the Client Project(s) you want to merge from the dropdown menu.

  5. Toggle off the Project data you don't want to merge.

  6. Click Merge.

Previously merged Projects will show at the bottom of the page, allowing you to open the merged Project and Unmerge.

How to Merge Everything

This folder is where you can merge many different types of data.

Examples of data that can be merged are Assets, Kits, Card providers, Disciplines, Document types, Skills, Inductions, Categories, Resources, Item Classifications, Payroll, Site Allowances, Suppliers, Tags, Task Types, Territories, Traffic Management Types, and more.

  1. Select the Merge Everything tab from the top toolbar.

  2. Select the type of data you want to merge from the dropdown field. (compulsory)

  3. Enter the reason for merging. (optional)

  4. Choose Items by ID to keep. (optional)

  5. Choose Items to merge. (optional) Or,

  6. Choose the Item you want to keep from the Item list that appears just under 'Chosen Items'.

  7. Choose the Items you want to merge into the Item you want to keep. Or

  8. Create an Item and merge older items into your new Item created.

  9. Click Merge

Merge Records

This folder records all merge history from the Merge Everything folder and is where you can Demerge any data items that were not meant to be merged.

  1. Select the Merge Records from the top toolbar.

  2. Open the Merge Type record to view Merge history.

  3. If the items need to be Demerged, you can do so from the Merge History page.
