Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows a worker's on-road experience to be recognised towards a qualification. Traffio builds the evidence package for you by pulling the worker's completed jobs, along with the documents, traffic guidance schemes and activities attached to them, into a single shareable package.
You will need the following permission toggle to create and edit RPL records.
If you do not currently have access, please reach out to your Traffio administrator for assistance.
Note: If you do NOT have permissions to view personal information, you will still be able to create an RPL record, however the person's email address from their profile will not be pre-filled or accessible to you.
Creating an RPL Record
Navigate to People on the sidebar
Select the person you want to create the record for
Select RPL in the employees overview
Check the Field Worker's details & enter a recipient Email address.
By default if the person's profile has an email address it will be *prefilled. *Unless you lack the permissions for it.Select the RPL Category from the drop-down (for example, Traffic Controller)
Set the Date & Period
This is the window the jobs are pulled from, for example the last 24 months.Tick the jobs you want to include. As you select jobs the Total Hours field will increase based on the hours worked.
Click Show next 10 to load more jobs (repeat until you have the hours you need)
Click Create
Attaching Documents & Activities
Each evidence job can carry the documents & activities that support it.
Click the green documents button in the TGS column
Tick the documents you want to attach
Click Use document
Select the Activities performed on that job from the drop-down
Repeat for each evidence job
Click Save
The SWMS column fills automatically from form submissions on that job, where the form has been marked as an RPL / SWMS form. See Marking a Form as RPL / SWMS Evidence below.
Finalising & Sharing the Package
An RPL record moves through three states: Draft and Finalised.
Click Finalise across the top (the evidence jobs will lock & can no longer be edited)
Click Preview to check the package before it goes out
Click Share
The worker is emailed a link to their package. Once shared, the Share button becomes Resend email.
The package link is live, not an attachment. If evidence is added later, the worker & their RTO will see the updated package at the same link. The package shows a Data current as of date & time so it is clear how recent the information is.
What the Field Worker Receives
The worker receives an email titled Your Recognition of Prior Learning package, showing their category, period & total hours, with a press here link to open the package.
The package itself displays:
The worker's name, category, period & total hours
A QR code & your company details, including ABN
Every evidence job with its date, road category, hours, crew size & activities
Links to the attached SWMS, traffic guidance schemes & other documents
A link to the works docket for each job
IMPORTANT: Currently RPL packages are permanent webpages that do not ever expire. Functionality to determine this time frame is currently under development.
