How to create and apply skills to people.

Getting Started

Skills are qualifications, specialisations or extra training or inductions an employee has undertaken.

​Examples of skills are:
- White card,
- Covid-19 Vaccination,
- Manual license,
- Specific site induction or training,
- Company induction or specialisations such as Traffic Controller,
- Spotter or Labourer.

Where skills come into play

Skills are used while creating bookings. Setting a skill or induction requirement for a Client, Depot, Project or Company means when you are adding resources to your booking you will get a warning if you try to add anyone who does not have the correct skills linked to them.

How to Create a Skill

  1. Navigate to People then click Skills

  2. Click New

  3. Enter skill name

  4. Skill type

    Site ticket -a skill that is required onsite, Vehicle skill - certain license

  5. Specialisation

    if this skill makes someone qualified to be a certain specialisation on the booking board

  6. Set a lifetime period

    How long the skill is active for

  7. Set notification period

    This is the time frame in which the system will notify you of when someone's skill is close to expiring.

  8. Click Save.

Apply Person skills

  1. Navigate to People on the sidebar

  2. Select the person you want to apply the skill too

  3. Select Skills in the employees overview

  4. Click +New

  5. Select the skill from the drop-down and add any relevant details

  6. Click Create.

Once a skill is created, you can then add documents to the person skill files.
