When setting up your rate schedule, you can specify the timing for when breaks are deducted from the shift. This allows you to define how breaks are subtracted, ensuring accurate calculation of billable hours.

There are two options:

  • Deducting from the end of the shift

  • Deducting the break from X amount of hours into the shift

You can also select the specific days on which these configurations will apply.

What this means:

If your shift exceeds 8 hours or falls under a night rate, taking your break at the end of the shift means you'll be deducting the 30 minutes from the higher charge rate. By choosing to take the break after a set number of hours, you can deduct it from the first 8 hours of the shift instead.

How To Set Break Configurations:

  1. Navigate to Billing on the sidebar

  2. Choose Rate Schedules tab

  3. Choose desired Rate Schedule

  4. Choose desired Break Configuration

  5. Select Days you want the Break Configuration to apply on

  6. Click Save

  7. Click Publish
