Traffio will breakdown the total shift hours into the different 'Payable Hours'. This allows you to pay an employee different rates throughout a shift (e.g. ordinary hours plus overtime hours).
A person's shift is divided into different payable hours. Each payable hour can be linked to a different pay rate in your accounting software, allowing you to pay different rates for the same shift.
For example, you can pay one rate for 'Ordinary hours' and a different rate for 'Overtime hours' in the same shift.
Payable Hours
Flat Rate Ordinary
Flat Rate Allocated Travel Hours
Flat Rate Overtime
Allocated Travel Hours and Allocated Travel Time
If the 'Allocated travel time' is greater than zero:
the first hours within the 'Allocated travel time' will be recorded under 'Flat Rate Allocated Travel' payable hours
then any hours beyond that will be recorded as 'Flat Rate Ordinary' payable hours
For example, if the allocated travel limit is 2 hours, an 8-hour shift will have 2 hours in 'Flat Rate Allocated Travel' and 6 hours in 'Flat Rate Ordinary'.
Flat Rate Overtime
Flat Rate Overtime hours are only applied when the "Limit 'Ordinary' hours per pay period" toggle is enabled.
When enabled, 'Ordinary' hours are capped at the "Max 'Ordinary' hours". Once this limit is reached, 'Flat Rate Overtime' hours will be used.
For example, if there’s a limit of 38 'Ordinary' hours in a week, you may reach that limit by Friday and will receive 'Overtime' hours instead.
Linking Payable Hours to your Pay Rates in Accounting Software
You can link your own pay rates to these Traffio 'Payable Hours' per 'Payroll Category' in the 'Earnings Rates' tab of the Payroll Cost Centre.
In the screenshot example, we have the 'Payroll Categories' "Traffic Controller A.1" and "Traffic Controller A.2."
As shown, the list of 'Payable Hours' is repeated for each 'Payroll Category'.
