A person's shift is split into different payable hours.
Each payable hour can be linked to a different pay rate in your external accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, etc).
This allows you to pay different rates for the one shift.
For example, for one shift you can pay a first rate for the 'Ordinary hours' and then a second rate for the 'Overtime hours'.

Hour Limits
You can set an hour limit on some of the 'Payable Hours'. This will be used to determine when to move on to another 'Payable Hour'.
For example, if a shift is longer than the 'Day Overtime' limit, the 'Day Extra Overtime' will be used for the remaining hours.
π Day Overtime payable hours have two "hours limit" options
"Day Overtime hrs limit"
"Saturday 'Day Overtime' hrs limit override"
By default, the "Day Overtime hrs limit" is used but on Saturdays, this field is overridden by the limit set in "Saturday 'Day Overtime' hrs limit override".
How does Traffio split a shift into each 'Payable Hour'?
Traffio calculates what amount of hours should be placed into each payable hour based on...
the payroll shift type assigned
where the shift start time falls into the timeframe,
β(does it start in the day timeframe or the night timeframe?),what week breakdown is used,
and what other settings have been enabled (e.g. Limit Ordinary hours)
Each payroll shift type uses the 'Payable Hours' in different ways, so see the help article to understand this further.
Linking 'Payable Hours' to your pay rates ($) in your external accounting software
You can link your own pay rates ($) to these Traffio 'Payable Hours' per 'Payroll Category' in the 'Earnings rates' tab in the Payroll Cost Centre.
In the screenshot example, we have the 'Payroll Categories' "Traffic Controller A.1" and "Traffic Controller A.2".
As you can see, the list of 'Payable Hours' are repeated for each 'Payroll Category'.
Optional payable hours
Saturday Ordinary
The "Week Breakdown" can change when you consider a Saturday to start.
When enabled...
Saturday shift hours will be placed
in the 'Saturday Ordinary' hours up until the hours set in the "Sat ordinary hrs limit",
then the 'Day Overtime' hours up until the "Saturday 'Day Overtime' hrs limit override",
with the remaining hours placed in the 'Day Extra Overtime' hours.
The 'Saturday first hours only applies before 12 noon' toggle is also available to use when it's enabled.
'Saturday first hours only applies before 12 noon'
If enabled, then the first hours set in the "Saturday 'Day Overtime' hrs limit override" before 12 noon will use 'Day Overtime' hours.
Hours after this limit or shifts that start after 12 noon, will only use the 'Day Extra Overtime' hours.
When disabled...
Saturday shift hours will be placed
in the 'Day Overtime' hours up until the "Saturday 'Day Overtime' hrs limit override",
then the remaining hours will be placed in the 'Day Extra Overtime'.
The 'Saturday first hours only applies during daylight hours' toggle is also available to use when it's disabled.
'Saturday first hours only applies during daylight hours'
If enabled, then the first hours set in "Saturday 'Day Overtime' hrs limit override" between the time set in "Day start" and the time set in "Night start" will use 'Day Overtime' hours.
Hours after this limit or outside of this timeframe will use the 'Day Extra Overtime' hours.
π If 'Limit Ordinary hours per pay period' is also enabled and it reaches its 'max Ordinary hours', the 'Saturday Ordinary' hours will not be used.
Sunday Ordinary

then the remaining hours are placed in 'Day Extra Overtime' hours.
When disabled...

π If 'Limit Ordinary hours per pay period' is also enabled and it reaches its 'max Ordinary hours', the 'Sunday Ordinary' hours will not be used.
