This article will explain the different toggles available in this section of Traffio, detailing their purpose and how they function.
In the Alternate Shift Options, you will find the following settings:
Use Minimum Hours P/Shift
Limit 'Ordinary' Hours per pay period (week/fortnight)
Extra Overtime hours on Friday evenings
Don't deduct break on weekend/public holiday
Re-allocate Night Extra Overtime payable hours in day timeframe
Use Minimum Hours P/Shift
When enabled, all shifts will have a duration of at least the 'minimum hours' set.
If a shift is shorter than the specified minimum hours, additional hours will be added to the end of the shift to meet the minimum requirement.
This setting overrides the default four-hour minimum for 'late cancellation' bookings.
Exception: If the end time has been manually adjusted, the minimum hours will not be applied, and the shift will remain at the overridden end time.
Limit 'Ordinary' Hours per Pay Period (Week/Fortnight)
When enabled, 'Ordinary' hours will be limited to the amount specified in the "Maximum 'Ordinary' Hours per Pay Period." Once this limit is reached, any additional hours worked will be classified as 'Overtime' hours.
'Ordinary' hours include payable hours such as:
'Day Ordinary'
'Night Ordinary'
'Saturday Ordinary'
'Sunday Ordinary'
'Overtime' hours include payable hours like:
'Day Overtime' and 'Day Extra Overtime'
'Night Overtime' and 'Night Extra Overtime'
These overtime hours will be subject to the standard hourly limits set, as shown in the image below:
If 'Use Saturday Ordinary Hours' is enabled, the Saturday overtime hourly limit will follow the hours set in the 'Saturday Day Overtime Hours Limit Override.'
โ๏ธ Reminder
Saturday overtime hours will first count towards 'Day Overtime' and then 'Day Extra Overtime.'
Sunday overtime hours will go directly into 'Day Extra Overtime.'
No night payable hours will be used.
Example: If the weekly limit for 'Ordinary' hours is 38, you may run out of 'Ordinary' hours by Friday and receive 'Overtime' hours instead.
Extra Overtime Hours on Friday Evenings
When enabled, any hours worked after the 'Night Start' on Friday will be classified as 'Extra Overtime' payable hours.
'Extra Overtime' Payable Hours Explained:
If the payroll shift type is 'Day shift', it will use the 'Day Extra Overtime' payable hours.
If the payroll shift type is 'Night shift', it will use the 'Night Extra Overtime' payable hours.
If the payroll shift type is 'Weekday shift', it will use the 'Night Extra Overtime' payable hours.
Don't Deduct Break on Weekend/Public Holiday
When enabled, employees will be paid for their break time during public holidays and weekends.
Re-allocate Night Extra Overtime Payable Hours in Day Timeframe
This option is only applicable when a 'Night' shift is used.
For example, if the 'Weekend' shift is enabled or used, this setting will not be applied.
If the Night Extra Overtime payable hours fall within the Day timeframe, those hours will be allocated to the Night Overtime payable hours instead.
