There are various fields you can select to define the start and finish of a shift for payroll. This section lets you specify what you want to use as the start and finish times.

Meet at Depot vs Straight to Site

By default, all shifts are set to meet at depot unless you specify that the worker assigned to the booking must go straight-to-site (STS).

You can override this default and set all shifts to straight-to-site (STS) by adjusting your company's configuration settings. You will need to have the correct access level to adjust this. To learn more about access levels, click here.

  1. Navigate to Admin on the sidebar

  2. Select the Traffio Config tab

  3. Filter category by Booking

  4. Select the config Booking person goes straight to site(STS) by default

  5. Change to Yes

  6. Click Save

⚠️ If you are using the 'Meet at Depot' settings please ensure the following config options are set to 'show'

  • Use arrive at depot

  • Use leave at depot

  • Use return to depot

Correlating Start Fields - Meet at Depot

The fields related to the options above can be found in the docket.

If you configure payroll to start paying from 'Meet at depot', it will use the start time from:

  1. Docket 'Arrived at depot' field

  2. If that doesn’t exist, the docket 'Departed depot' field

  3. If that doesn’t exist, the docket 'Start' field

  4. If that doesn’t exist, the booking person's 'Scheduled Start Time' field

  5. If that doesn’t exist, the booking 'Start time' field

Field workers enter the times in the mobile application under each job/booking in the 'Forms' tab, under 'Docket'.

In the web portal of Traffio, you can set the remaining two fields:

You can override the times submitted through the docket in the web portal:

  1. Navigate to Bookings on the sidebar

  2. Select the desired Booking

  3. Select the Dockets tab

  4. Manually select the Date/Time in the desired field

Note: The depot times will not display if you have not turned on the show depot configurations.

Correlating Start Fields - Straight to Site

If you configure it to be “Straight to site”, then it calculates the start time as:

  1. The docket 'Start' field

  2. If that doesn’t exist, the booking person's 'Booking Start Time' field

  3. If that doesn’t exist, the booking 'Start time' field

Skips the first 2 fields listed in the 'Meet at depot' option.

See the images above for where the fields are located.

Correlating Finish Fields

The system calculates the finish time by:

  1. The booking person's 'Scheduled Finish Time' field

  2. If that doesn’t exist, the booking 'Approximate End time' field

  3. If that doesn’t exist, the docket step 5 'Depot return times' page

Field workers enter the times in the mobile application under each job/booking in the 'Forms' tab, under 'Docket'.

Exclude Travel Time (Flat Rate EBA type only)

This toggle is currently only for the 'Flat rate' EBA type.

When enabled, this setting will add the hours between arrive at depot and leave depot with the hours between start on site and finish on site. It will exclude the travel time between depot and site.

Due to the design of this setting, the slider is not editable. If you would like to have different times considered, then disable the toggle and drag the slider accordingly.

Once this toggle is enabled, a new column 'Excluded hours' will be displayed in the pay run table to show the number of hours excluded from the total duration between start and end.

Note: You are still able to override the start and end times in the payrun table.

If the start time is later than the depot end time and/or the end time is earlier than the site start time, then it will remove any travel time and consider it as one time block.
